About Us
SPC's origins can be found in Twinsburg, OH, where David R. Tuttle founded the David R. Tuttle Company in 1952. It was a manufacturer’s representative selling in what was then a domestic fastener industry. Mr. Tuttle represented companies such as Wasmer Bolt—now Lake Erie Screw—Master Products, Wales Beach, and the Independent Nail Corporation.
Mr. Tuttle started working in distribution when the Independent Nail Corporation was established in 1953. This new business was recognized to offer less-than-truckload distributors the threaded nails required to complete their projects on schedule. The following year, the Fruehauf Trailer Corporation requested that Mr. Tuttle start supplying its lower-volume parts. SPC was then formed to serve that purpose.

Almost immediately after his passing in 1990, Mr. Tuttle was honored by being inducted into the National Industrial Fastener Hall of Fame. David, Robert, and Thomas, his three sons, ran the business as its owners and operators until they retired in 2009. The third generation of the Tuttle Family currently manages SPC and has over 30 years of experience in the industry
